Michael Witney(21 November1931– 30 November1983; age 52) [1]was an American actor, born in New York City, New York, who played the role of Tyreein the Star Trek: The Original Seriessecond seasonepisode "A Private Little War".

Witney made his television debut as a regular on the ABC drama The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters, which aired during the 1963-64 season. Fellow Original Series guest star Meg Wyllie was also a regular on this series. He went on to work with a number of other Original Series alumni while making appearances on The Richard Boone Show (with Warren Stevens), Bonanza (four episodes, including one with Glenn Corbett, another with Hal Baylor, and yet another with Morgan Woodward), Gunsmoke (with Charles Seel), 12 O'Clock High (with Robert Lansing, Frank Overton, and Bert Remsen), Daniel Boone (with Jon Lormer), The F.B

Born as Whitney Michael Armstrong on November 21, 1931, Michael Witney was an American film and television actor. From 1963 to 1964, he had a recurring role as Buck Coulter, in the series, "The Travels of Jaimie McPheetersm" which also starred Kurt Russell. The series was Witney's first screen acting role and lead to other western series, including "Bonanza," "Daniel Boone," "Iron Horse," "Death Valley Days" and "Gunsmoke." In 1975, Witney was cast as Frank Ward in several episodes of "Oil Strike North," on the BBC in England. He is also one of several "Gilligan's Island" co-stars, such as Michael Forest and Stanley Adams to have also appeared on "Star Trek." His last TV appearances were in different roles on Charlie's Angels. He passed away from a heart attack on November 30, 1983.

Michael Roy WhitneyAM (born 24 February 1959) is a retired Australian television personality and former cricketer, who played in 12 Test matches and 38 One Day Internationals between 1981 and 1993.

Cricket career

Whitney grew up in Matraville, in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. He began playing cricket at Matraville Public School, South Sydney Boys High and the Botany United Junior Cricket Club. He played all of his senior club cricket for the Randwick Cricket Club (1976–94) in the Sydney Grade Competition. Since 2001, he has been the President of the Randwick Petersham Cricket Club. He played 94 first-class matches for New South Wales from 1980 to 1994. He is one of only three fast bowlers to take more than three hundred first-class wickets for New South Wales; the others are Geoff Lawson and Trent Copeland. He was named New South Wales Cricketer of the Year in 1988–89 and was part of four Sheffield Shield–winning teams. In five Sheffield Shield Finals appearances, he took 25 wickets at 19.28.
