“My ideas for stories come from experiences I’ve had, or from dreams or leap right out of my head—from my ever-active imagination,” explains Jonathan London, who burst on the children’s book scene in 1992 with the publication of three picture books including Froggy Gets Dressed. Since then he has published more than 100 books, including the popular Froggy series and the young adult novel, Where’s Home?
“There are worlds of possibility within our own imaginations from which we can create stories that can make someone want to cry or laugh, play a saxophone or make a snowman. This act of writing, for me, is a part of my celebration of life, a way to give back a little for all that I have been given. A kind of thanks.”

Awards
London's books have won about a dozen IRA/CBC Children's Choice Awards, plus numerous awards and honors from Parent's Choice, the American Library Association, the National Council of Science Teachers, Child Magazine, Smithsonian, Time, People Magazine, the ABC Award from the American Booksellers Association and more. Many of his books have been the Book of the Month Club feature selections or Junior Library Guild selections, and two have been Reading Rainbow books (Hip Cat was featured on PBS).
Bibliography
Jonathan London has published more that 80 picture books. Desolation Canyon was his first serial novel; Bella Bella is his second novel for Breakfast Serials. Besides the sixteen popular Froggy books (including Froggy Gets Dressed and the New York Times bestsellers, Froggy Eats Out and Froggy Goes to the Doctor), London is the author of The Eyes of Gray Wolf; Honey Paw and Lightfoot, Fire Race, Hip Cat, Baby Whale's Journey, and, most recently Sled Dogs Run, as well as many other books for children.

Jonathan London (born March 11, 1947) is an American writer of children’s books, best known as the author of the popular Froggy series.
Early life
London was born in Brooklyn, New York. His father was a career Navy officer and London lived with his parents and brother Jeff on or near Navy bases all over the country, including Puerto Rico, until he was 18 years old.[citation needed] In college at San Jose State University he studied history and social sciences but became a poet. After receiving an MA in Social Sciences he joined a dance company in San Francisco, wrote poetry and short fiction, and travelled around the world.[1]
