An international problem-solver and C-level executive, Juan has 25 years of leadership experience in organizations with budgets up to $28 billion in the U.S., Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. His diverse experience includes time as Press Secretary for Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, managing a $20 million grantmaking portfolio for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, 15 years as a journalist and launching three companies. He is the producer and host of the upcoming podcast series, "Words Matter."

Upon returning to New York City, Juan led the Communications and Policy departments at GLSEN, the nation's leading education organization focused on ensuring safe and affirming schools for all students. In addition to working with Congress and the Obama Administration, Juan led an overhaul of the GLSEN brand, including partnerships with Google, YouTube, Facebook, Target, Wells Fargo, Disney/ABC, Levi’s, the NBA/WNBA, Burt’s Bees and Teleflora.

My Story

Juan met his beautiful wife, Katelynn, while in college and now have three amazing children who are the center of their world. Malachi, Elliani, and Zoe are energetic, love playing outside, and would love it if they did not have a bedtime! He enjoys eating at new restaurants with his wife, and watching his kids play and have fun! Juan and Katelynn have been youth pastor’s in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Illinois, and now serve on staff at Vineyard Cincinnati as Outreach Pastor serving students in local schools and reaching families in the community! Juan also leads and is the director of an annual Youth Conference put on at Vineyard Cincinnati. Its a full-fledged youth conference meets missions trip where over 1000 middle school and high school students gather together to seek the Lord together and help reach a city and are challenged to do the same in their hometowns - all in the same week! Juan has been a motivational speaker in school’s, local sports teams, and is a sought after speaker for youth events, retreats, camps, men’s retreats and church services and wou
