David Robert Joseph Beckham (BEK-əm;[5] born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer, the president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City.[6] Primarily a right winger and known for his range of passing, crossing ability and free-kick taking, Beckham has been hailed as one of the greatest and most recognisable midfielders of his generation, as well as one of the best free-kick takers of all time.[7][8][9] He won 19 major trophies in his career, and is the first English player to win league titles in four different countries: England, Spain, the United States and France.[10]
Beckham's professional club career began with Manchester United, where he made his first-team debut in 1992 at age 17.[11] With United, he won the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice, the FA Charity Shield twice, the Intercontinental Cup and the UEFA Champions League in 1999.[11] He then played four seasons with Real Madrid,[ David Beckham was the first English football player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. His career spanned 20 years with some of the most successful clubs in the world: Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England team, which he captained for six years. Since retiring from football in 2013, Beckham has worked with world-leading brands including Adidas, Tudor, Hugo Boss, Stella Artois and Sands. In 2018, he became a founder and co-owner of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami CF, the culmination of his lifelong ambition to own a football club and the start of an exciting new chapter. In 2019, David founded the content studio, Studio 99. The studio operates both editorial and commercial production, and specialises in developing and producing premium documentary features, series and formats for global platforms and networks, including Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. Studio 99’s recent work has included the Emmy award-winning documentary series “BECKHAM” (Netflix) and th Beckham, a docuseries about the lives of David and Victoria Beckham, premiered on Netflix on October 4. The couple had previously signed a $20 million contract with Netflix for the series, which drew significant attention from fans of the retired soccer star, while also drawing him nearly a half million new fans on social media. The series included several revelations about the Beckham couple, in particular when David, 48, and Victoria, 49, directly addressed rumors that David reportedly cheated on his wife with model Rebecca Loos in 2003. “It was a nightmare,” Victoria said. “It was an absolute circus—and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town, right?
