Artist’s statement
Leigh Ann was born in England and grew up in Warwickshire. She began her artistic career as a graphic designer after graduating from Ravensbourne art college with a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication in 1989. Following a move to Sussex, she took up botanical illustration and in 2004 completed the prestigious diploma in Botanical Art and Illustration at the English Gardening School, Chelsea Physic Garden, London. This was followed in 2008 with a post graduate teaching certificate. Leigh Ann is a Fellow member of the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA), a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) and the Association of Botanical Artists (ABA).
Over the years Leigh Ann has exhibited her work internationally and has been awarded medals by the RHS and the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town, South Africa. Many of her paintings are held in private collections in the UK and overseas, including the Royal Archives, the permanent collection at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh, USA and at Sydney Botanic Garde

Story and Tips by the IPDFA “Pole Instructor of the Year 2015”
Natasha Wang is an L.A.-based performer and instructor who has won the titles of IPC Ultimate Champion 2013, Pole Art 2012 Runner-Up, US Pole Dance Champion 2011, USPDF West Coast Champion 2010, California Pole Dance Champion 2010, and East Meets West Miss Pole-AM 2010.
In 2015, she was named the IPDFA “Instructor of the Year” and in 2014, she won “Female Performance Artist of the Year” and “Inspirational Artist of the Year” at the inaugural PWN (Pole World News) Awards.
1. Natasha, could you please tell me about yourself? How have you come to pole dance?
What was your biggest challenge when you started pole dance and how you overcame it? How was your process of becoming a professional pole dancer and instructor? What and who inspired you when creating your own style?

Before Fly Girls, there was Crystal, a passionate individual with a deep love for movement and fitness. Here is a little background on her journey and how she ultimately ended up taking the leap to own her very own pole studio.
Biography of Crystal Gibson, Owner of Fly Girls Fitness: Crystal Gibson is a pole instructor and entrepreneur from Los Angeles, CA, who moved to the UK in 2016. She is the founder of Fly Girls Fitness, a pole dance and aerial movement centre in Galley Common, Nuneaton. With 15 years of teaching experience and involvement in the pole community since 2001, Crystal has been the master trainer at her home studio for the past six years, teaching six days a week. She recently won 2nd Place in the Champions Division at IPAAT in January 2024.
