Atif Aslam[a] (Punjabi:[aːtɪfəsləm]; born 12 March 1983) is a Pakistani playback singer, songwriter, composer, and actor. He has recorded many songs in both Pakistan and India, and is known for his vocal belting technique.[1][2]
Born in Wazirabad, Pakistan, Atif Aslam started his music career in early 2000s. He released his first album titled "Jal Pari". In 2005, he debuted in Bollywood music industry by singing a song in the Indian film, Zeher. After this, he sang multiple songs in Bollywood in India and Lollywood in Pakistan. Aslam has sung for Coke Studio. He predominantly sings in Urdu, but also sings in his native Punjabi, as well as Bengali, Persian and Pashto.[3] In 2008, he received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the fourth-highest civilian honor award from the Pakistani government.[citation needed] He is also a recipient of several Lux Style Awards. Atif Aslam's Biography
2. Early life and Education On 12th March, 1983 Atif Aslam was born in Wazirabad, Pakistan He studied at PAF College, Lahore where he completed his F.Sc (Pre-engineering) with the class of 2001. He used to be the main attack bowler of his college cricket team and represented his college in various other cities and ultimately got selected in under 19 National cricket team of Pakistan.
3. He won his first singing competition on Independence Day celebrations in the college. He then went to the University of Central Punjab and completed his Bachelors in Computer Science. Aslam is single and currently lives in Lahore (Pakistan) with his family.
4. Music Career Jal The Band He used to sing at the college canteen when his friends urged him to participate in the singing competition on Independence Day celebrations at PAF College Lahore in 1998. He performed there and won the competition. Thereafter, he also won several other college competitions.
