On the night of April 19, 1989, a 28-year-old female jogger was brutally attacked and raped in New York’s Central Park. She was found unconscious with her skull fractured, her body temperature at 84 degrees, and 75 percent of her blood drained from her body. When she recovered, she had no memory of the assault. Initial police investigations quickly focused on a group of African American and Latino youths who were in police custody for a series of other attacks perpetrated in the park that night.
The Confessions
After prolonged periods of police interrogation, five teenagers – Yusef Salaam, Kevin Richardson, Antron McCray, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise – confessed to being involved in the attacks. At the time, the defendants were between 14 and 16 years of age. Richardson, McCray, Santana, and Wise all gave videotaped confessions.

Kevin Scott Richardson (born October 3, 1971)[1] is an American pop singer, best known as a member of the vocal group the Backstreet Boys. Richardson was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame with his cousin and bandmate Brian Littrell in 2015.[2]
Early life
Kevin Scott Richardson was born on October 3, 1971, in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Ann Clyde (née Littrell) (June 11, 1943–January 22, 2022),[3] homemaker, and Jerald Wayne Richardson Sr. (December 27, 1941–August 26, 1991), an outdoorsman, military veteran,[4] construction worker, fireman, camp manager and handyman.[5]

Kevin Rene Richardson (born 8 October 1974), known as "The Lion Whisperer",[1] is a South African YouTube personality, wildlife conservationist and self-taught sanctuary owner who works with lions, black leopards, spotted hyenas and striped hyenas.
Early life
Kevin Richardson was born in the Nightingale Clinic in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the 8th of October, 1974. He spent his childhood in the neighbourhood of Orange Grove.[2] His mother, Patricia, worked for Barclays Bank and was also born in South Africa. Richardson's father, who worked for a pharmaceutical company, was born in the United Kingdom and moved to South Africa from Reading, Berkshire. Kevin Richardson is the youngest of four children: he has an older brother and two sisters who are twins.[3] His father died when Richardson was thirteen years old. When he was about sixteen, he met Stan Schmidt and began his career as a "self-taught behaviourist."[2]
